Sample Searches and Vacancies
Sample Searches & Vacancies

These are meant to be samples for the recruiter to learn how to start his/her search or for creating a job vacancy. These are neither meant to be comprehensive or complete. Each company's requirements are unique in their technical, cultural, experience, education needs in the jobseekers profiles. Please use the following generic templates/profiles to modulate the search to your requirements.

Quick Points to remember when Searching GulfPersonnel.com
Recruiters Guide to Searching GulfPersonnel.com

  • Keywords are your best friend. Please use keywords to narrow your search.

  • Please understand how keywords work - Choosing "All" will make sure that all keywords typed into the Keywords field appear on the resume (akin to a logical AND of all the keywords). Choosing "Any" will make sure that any one of the keywords typed into the Keywords field appear on the resume (akin to a logical OR of all the keywords. Choosing "Exact Phrase" will make sure that all the words in the exact sequence typed into the Keywords field appear in the resume.

  • Please use the Sample Searches to model your search parameters.

  • Please choose good categories and industries. For details on choosing good categories and industries please refer to the "Detailed Guide to Use of Category and Industry on GulfPersonnel.com"

  • Err on the side of non-specific than specific - choose "Any" as the category if you are not sure about the category

  • Use the freshness indicator for the resume to search - recently posted or refreshed resumes means that the jobseeker is actively looking for a change in jobs

  • Country and City data is transient and often incorrect - please use this only if you are very particular about where you want jobseekers are from.

  • Please explore overlaps between categories - for eg. Top management and EPC - Project Mgt/Senior categories are overlapped categories. Some people may overlap it but some may slot is narrowly and be missed out in other searches. So if you are looking for a senior manager in EPC - it would still be a good idea to choose Top Management as well as EPC - Project Mgt/Senior categories

  • If all else fails - use Keyword Search. Or in Basic Search make all fields "Any" with experience and keywords.

  • If you want to search for people from a specific company, specific skill - please use Keywords for this purpose

  • When searching for "General" categories (such as HR, Sales, Secretary etc - typically non-technical categories) - please choose the relevant category, use "Any" as the industry and use keywords to narrow your search

Quick Points to remember when Placing GulfPersonnel.com
Recruiters Guide to Placing Vacancies on GulfPersonnel.com

  • Please refer to the sample searches and vacancies available online to create your own customized vacancy

  • Be as specific as possible in choosing the vacancy parameters.

  • Please choose good categories and industries. For details on choosing good categories and industries please refer to the "Detailed Guide to Use of Category and Industry on GulfPersonnel.com". For vacancies specifically, it is important to choose a good category because this is the first method for job seekers to search for vacancies.

  • If the vacancy is a hot job - choose the designation carefully because this is what appears in the hot job display

  • Choice of an education level is exact - not inclusive. So if you choose Graduate -this will not include undergraduates and lower education levels

  • Mentioning a salary range is usually a good idea because this will cull out job seekers whose salary expectations are higher

  • Selecting a City and Country for the job destination is very important since jobseekers often use these parameters in their search criteria

  • Do choose to receive resumes by email - you will receive several emailed resumes - many irrelevant. But this is a very convenient option to get resumes directly into your inbox.
